As a public figure, Hana is known for a few different things. One is for her top tier competitive gameplay in worldwide championships. A second is her trademark bunny symbol with angry eyebrows and a cute mouth. A third is being chosen for the Korean Army’s internally piloted MEKA program because of her no-mercy attitude.

Yet being a girl-next-door type actually gives that last feature charm. You see, D.Va has been a presence for a while. She worked her way up on her own from little streaming sites to become one of the top names in ESports world wide. People loved her fire and her drive to always win. She’d be reckless in games, but also calculated and make sure to protect her team--or at least draw fire for them. Her teams always found her to be stubborn, which tended to make her a natural leader along with her propensity for the limelight. That said, her pride is well earned. It wasn’t easy to be a girl in a historically biased industry, yet she worked her way into the top players with a combination of her dedication, skill, and her intensity.

Though she isn’t always the nicest player--she can trash talk like the best of them--Hana has always kept a positive sense about her. She’s bubbly and laughs easily, and isn’t afraid to admit she likes to be girly too. Her pink bunny flies on her streaming account as a representation of her, cute and mean all at once. This was another step that led to her pursuing a secondary career as an idol. D.Va remained indisputably and unrepentantly herself in a way that encouraged a lot of Korean women and gained the attention of many more people.

Her loyalty also becomes apparent when the Korean government reached out to her to become apart of the MEKA pilot program. She elected to join and expand her goals as well as protect her country, even at the potential threat for her life. D.Va’s determined and competitive streak wasn’t buried beneath this loyalty though, nor was her attention seeking behavior. She began to stream her actual battles against the omnic forces attacking Korean coastline. And her fans delighted in it. Hana brought the intensity they wanted, in a cute little package to boot. She’s stubborn and focused with a mean competitive streak and a no-mercy policy, yet she’s also playful and loyal to a fault. And she never gives up.
